The Inmates are Running the Asylum
For those wondering why there have been very few updates over the last two weeks it’s because I have been extremely busy. My wife gave birth to our first child, a beautiful baby girl, on Thursday, July 13th. Anya, our lil’ she-devil, was a healthy 7lbs, 4oz. Both mom and baby are doing great. None of us have slept in two weeks, but that’s just one of the perks of parenthood.
In my absence from the Internet, and WTD in particular, things have gotten a bit fucked. There are staff members that have gone M.I.A., those who are having computer trouble, those who are roaming the country looking for a new residence, and then there’s Farlus and Josh. Farlus, my second in command, and Josh, our proverbial red-headed step-child, have been doing their best to keep this ship afloat, and I’d like to thank them. I have been pleading with the rest of the crew to step up and keep the site going, but little has come of my rantings. Perhaps those of you reading this could head over to our forum and give them all a piece of your mind.
One Devil in particular has really disappointed me. Longtime contributing writer/notorious slacker Slette has gone A.W.O.L. on us. I see he’s still on MySpace all the time, but he has abandoned us here at White Trash Devil without a word. I’ve “known” Slette for a long time, and I’m a bit surprised by his behavior. Oh well…fuck ‘im.
As I continue to make the transition from wealthy reclusive slacker to wealthy reclusive father, I will slowly start integrating myself back into the site. In the meantime I will try my best to motivate the staff. I am also beginning to look for new writers (if interested, send me a mock-up review to sick at whitetrashdevil dot com). I really want WTD to succeed, but that ain’t gonna happen if I have a bunch of flakes writing for me.
