Vitality - Voracious Malignity
- Released: 2006
- Label: Comatose Music
- Rating:

Once again, Comatose Music does not fail me. Texas does not fail me either. In fact, Texas has been home to some of the sickest brutal death metal in the last decade. Bands like Devourment, Sect of Execration, and Images of Violence stand as a testament to the sickness of Texas, and now we can also add Vitality to this group of bands that redefines the boundaries of brutal death metal. Comprised of ex-members of Prophecy and Devourment, Vitality has delivered one of the sickest displays of ultra-violent, old school brutal death that I’ve heard in a long time.
I call Vitality an old school brutal death band because this sounds like the original wave of brutal death metal, the true brutal death metal. Listening to Voracious Malignity brings back memories of the time when I first discovered this music and it’s a heart warming (and head-splitting) experience to relive that time in my life. However, that most certainly does not make Vitality a vintage novelty act.
Oh no, my friends. Vitality delivers some of the sickest and most intense death metal you’re likely to hear from the Lone Star State – and everywhere else, for that matter. The tunes vary between blasting numbers that make headbanging an absolute must, to slower, mosh-worthy numbers that will destroy any fashioncore kid within a 666 mile radius.
This is an album that doesn’t let up, and if you’re a fan of death metal or any metal in general, I suggest you pick this one up as soon as possible. Kudos to Vitality for another lesson in good old fashioned Lone Star Brutality.
